About Me

Associate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #MG61514040

Hi there, I’m Ali! I am a second-generation Cambodian American who comes from a community of Muslim refugees. It goes without saying that I am intimately familiar with generational trauma, and it’s the reason I entered the field of mental health. Through my own journey of self-discovery, I’ve come to realize the importance of healing our traumas and its impact on our overall well-being. I believe that with the right tools and support everybody has the capability to heal and grow.

Education & Experience

Ali Ahmad, LMFTA

I attended Pacific Lutheran University where I earned a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. During the program, I had the opportunity to work with diverse populations treating symptoms of anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress, trauma, and self-esteem struggles for individuals, couples, and families. I also did my internship as a student therapist at Affordable Counseling Center in Puyallup where I continued to work with diverse cultures from varying socioeconomic backgrounds. Before I decided to become a therapist, I worked as an attendant counselor for 7 years at a residential habilitation center where I supported adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities reintegrate back into society.
